Primary functions Smart Move can do with objects (file or folder): ------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. Search for them 2. Move them 3. Copy them 4. Delete them (to the recycle bin) 5. Rename them 6. Generate a file based on the object names selected - this file is genearally a simple list once you have generated a list with smart move you can: ------------------------------------------------------- 01. rename other objects based on the list (ex. you can generate a set of new folders based on a list) 02. use the list as a search folder list (in case you want to search more than one location for an object) 03. use the list as copy destination list (ex. to update everyones pc with the missing file at once) (ex. copy any system object that may need to be in more than one location) (ex. for keeping multiple backups) 04. use the list as a search list (ex. to find alternates for a set of corrupted files) 05. use the list as an automated search list for moving objects matching each entry (ex. say you have a number of files that need to be sorted regularly into a set of folders) 06. use the list as an automated destination list for moving objects matching each search entry (see example above) 07. use the list as an automated search list for generating local playlists 08. use the list as an automated search folder/destination list for generating local playlists 09. use the list as an automated search list for generating playlists and finding possible duplicates based on similar name only 10. use the list as an automated browsing list (ex. to display a set of displays) (ex. to keep a set of files updated from the internet) - requires an extra step to organize them -------------------------------------------------------------------------- What does Smart Move do?
